Why 2.5% and not free?
Stripe charges around 2.9% + $0.30 per card transaction. We negotiate a lower rate, eat the difference, and the 2.5% covers infrastructure (Cloudflare, Railway, email, B2 storage, support). It's the same rate ScanRaise charges nonprofit fundraisers, and lower than every direct competitor except Busk.co (which is a 10-year-old nonprofit funded by donations).
Is there a paid tier?
No. Every feature is free for every performer. We may add an optional pay-what-you-want supporter tier later if there's demand, but the core product will always be free.
How do I get paid?
Connect your bank through Stripe Connect. Tips land in your account on Stripe's standard schedule (typically T+2 to T+7 depending on your country and history).
Can tippers cover the fee?
Yes. There's an opt-in toggle on your checkout page so tippers can add the fee on top, meaning you keep 100% of the intended tip.
